Thank you for your interest in Adventurer’s Outlet
boffer swords. Our swords and indeed all out equipment are made following the essential weapons safety guidelines used by
many popular game systems such as NERO, nTeraction and many others. While the individual specs of the weapon such as length
and weight may very from weapon type to weapon type, there are some basic commonalities among all Adventurer’s Outlet weapons.
1.
All weapons have at least 5/8 inch padding on all striking areas of the weapon. This is includes the “flat” of the blade. 2.
All weapons where appropriate have a 2 inch of thrusting tip. 3. The cross guards of our weapons are made entirely of foam.
4. The blade is covered with a rip stop nylon tube which protects the foam from tearing. This is lighter and more tear
resistant that duct tape. It is also weather resistant and will not wrinkle or crack when exposed to heat and cold. 5.
Our weapons do not require additional upkeep or maintenance. The coating used on the cross guards and pommels will not dry
and crack like latex.

The Adventurer’s Outlet uses proprietary EC190 foam
for its blades which is much safer and longer lasting than traditional pipe insulation (Extruded Polyethylene). EC190 foam
has the same softness (durometer) as pipe insulation but has 10 times the tear resistance and resistance to break down. We
subjected EC190 and pipe insulation to a repeated impact test by dropping a 10 pound weight on the end of the foam tube one
hundred times each to see which foam would resist wear better and thus create a longer lasting and safer blade foam. As you
can from the photo below, the EC190 resisted the repeated impacts much better than the Pipe insulation.

We offer two styles of blades. The round blade
(on the right on the picture) is used for the traditional European style swords. This affords a full ¾ inch padding in all
directions on the core.
The Single Edge style (on the left in the picture) is used for swords such as sabers and
Katanas where one edge is favored more than the rest of the sword. Note that there is still at least 5/8” of foam on the
rest of the core.
