Care There are some simple habits you can do to keep your foam weapons in top working condition. - Don’t hit hard. In addition to making
you a much more liked fighter, not hitting hard helps keep the foam from breaking down over time. The harder you hit, the faster your foam weapon will breakdown and become unsafe.
- Don’t leave
anything lying on your foam weapon. Leaving something heavy lying on your weapon
will cause dents in the foam (or compression set as it is known in the foam world).
These dents will sometimes “pop” back out but some can be permanent.
Avoid leaving anything heavy on your weapon.
Maintenance There really isn’t any maintenance needed for LARPsupply weapons. Should
a weapon become damaged, LARPsupply will be happy to repair it for a modest fee. Safety Have your weapon inspected by your games safety
marshal to make sure it passes safety inspection. If you don’t play a game
or know a weapon safety marshal, check the following before using your weapons every time. - Feel the foam at the tip of the weapon. If you can feel the rigid
core inside the foam, the weapon is unsafe for use.
- Check the length
of blade for dents, gouges or tears in the foam or fabric.
- Make sure the pommel
is securely attached to the end of the weapon.
